Nothing is built overnight. Things that are started and resolved in an evening’s time are not big enough dreams. This truism is something I’ve been reminding myself a lot lately – to not; settle, dismiss, rush, or live impatiently. Instead, I choose to push ahead, cast vision and remain present with gratitude for where life finds me today. Today is the key to building thigns that matter.
The thing is, as soon as you go with the flow of life, instead of resisting it, the ride becomes a lot more enjoyable. I share this because many of you reading this are probably eager to arrive somewhere. The where might be where you’re happier, where you have that thing you’re waiting to add to the stockpile, where you’re someone accomplished, or where the grass is greener.
Here’s the thing, you’re nowhere but here, now. So why not enjoy it? Smile instead of stress. Embrace instead of reject. Choose instead of wait. Gratitude over restlessness. The little win over the big win.
It’s a lot easier to enjoy where you’re at today, then hope enjoyment somehow finds you later. The sad reality is – enjoyment isn’t built overnight either.
“What day is it?”
It’s today,” squeaked Piglet.
My favorite day,” said Pooh.”

Before purchasing my suggestion below, consider – I don’t support all beliefs mentioned in The Tao of Pooh, religious or otherwise, but eating the meat and leaving the bones, this book is one of my favorites.
