The easiest thing to do in life is to observe people, places, and situationsas they appear. There is nothing less romantic than an obvious truth because romance itself requires a degree of risk and uncertainty. Romance, you could say, is a subtle or grand exaggeration of the starkness that can become our reality. Just as romance is difficult to describe, many of the greatest truths in life lie not in the open but hidden beneath what is in plain sight. These truths are accessible only by looking beyond what is visible, in order to discover something much deeper. Today, I want to discuss how you can learn to speak life into a person, place or situation by calling it as it could be, rather than as it appears to be.
We all know what it is like to encourage a loved one who holds a low view of oneself, or a dear friend needing a pick-me-up to move past their sullenness. Seeing it as more than encouragement is to be speaking life into the soul of a person, providing them an opportunity to rise above their circumstance, awakening their deepest self. Doing so is where we learn to call out the depth of who we believe someone is, therefore, cultivating the romance of their potential. The hope is they might see it too and upon realizing it, allow it to become their reality. This message is simple to read, difficult to practice and life changing if applied.
Don’t call it like it is, call it what it could be.
Act On It
Your career, don’t settle. 70% of the average life is a pay check. Give 100% to something you love and receive more. Where there’s no vision, you perish. Call it what it could be.
Your relationship will grow deepest with one person you spend your lifetime with, remaining faithful and inclusive to one another. Build it, honor it, water it. A marriage is your greatest investment, protect it with your life. Plant seeds whose fruit you will cherish. Become first the person you desire to love in another.
Your body is the foundation in whom the soil of your mind is planted. Exercise daily, eat untampered food and write down your deepest dreams regularly. Be not dictated by your emotions. Envision who you ought to become.
Your friendships will define who you are, what you value and your net worth both financially and emotionally. Choose who you want to be like, then surround yourself with them and see that you become as such. Call yourself who you ought to be like, then call on those friends.
Your thinking will define everything about you. Be gracious and loving towards yourself. Be ever intentional and present. Believe you can become greater, then, be as you were meant to be.
Don’t fake it until you make it. Be it until you become it.
